We look forward to your visit and opportunity to get away from it all. While we are in NY, most people think NY is NYC. We are in a rural area. The closest shopping mall is 25 miles away. Cooperstown is a small village of 1800 residents that is beautiful, quiet and relaxing with many great things to do and places to eat. We are so glad you will be staying with us. Below is information that you will need to know regarding your visit. Cancellation Policies and Payment Information Cell phone coverage Check In/Out Children Conservation Forgotten Items Pets Smoke Free Property DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT INFORMATION //ALL RESERVATIONS are HELD with a 50% deposit. If you are staying 2 days or less, the balance will be due on the day of arrival. If you will be staying 3 days or more, opera weekends,  Hall of Fame Induction and Dream's Park weeks, the balance due will be collected 90 days in advance. GENERAL CANCELLATION INFORMATION: //We are a small, seasonal business that operates only a few months of the year.  Therefore, every cancellation or no show, effects us significantly.   //Once your reservations has been made, should it be necessary for you to change your original reservation, which includes departing earlier than your confirmed dates, you will be responsible for all of the original room nights booked unless we can rebook those nights.   Please review our cancellation policy below that relates to your intended length of stay and timing of your cancellation. TO CANCEL: YOU MUST DO SO IN WRITING OR CALL.  You will be given a CANCELLATION NUMBER. Please note that if you are using a gift card for deposit and/or payment, the cancellation fee applies as well and will be deducted from the value of the gift card. CANCELLATIONS FOR STAYS OF 1-2 DAYS //A $35 charge is applied to all cancellations for stays of 1-2 days except for Hall of Fame Induction Weekend.   If you cancel your reservation 10 days prior your check in date, your deposit will be returned minus the $35 cancellation fee. If you cancel your reservation less than 10 days of your check in date, you will be responsible for all of the original days reserved unless we can rebook those nights.  Cooperstown Lakeview Lodge will make a good faith effort to fill the rooms and refund those nights that are able to be rebooked minus the $35 cancellation fee.  Should it be necessary for you to DEPART EARLIER than your original reservation, you will be responsible for all of the original room nights booked.  If we are able to rebook them, you will receive a refund for those nights rebooked minus a $35 cancellation fee. CANCELLATION INFORMATION FOR STAYS OF 3 DAYS OR MORE, and FOR SPECIAL EVENTS, HOF iNDUCTION, OPERA WEEKDENDS, DREAMS PARK, AND HOLIDAYS: CANCELLATIONS FOR STAYS OF 3 DAYS OR MORE DURING “SPECIAL EVENTS” -OPERA PERFORMANCES, CONCERTS, INDUCTION WEEKEND,  HOLIDAYS & DREAMS PARK WEEKS:    //A $100 charge is applied to all cancellations for stays of 3 days or more during “special events”.  If you cancel your reservation 90 days prior your check in date, your deposit will be returned minus the $100 cancellation fee. If you cancel your reservation less than 90 days of your check in date, you will be responsible for all of the original days reserved unless we can rebook those nights.  Cooperstown Lakeview Lodge will make a good faith effort to fill the rooms and refund those nights that are able to be rebooked minus the $100 cancellation fee.  Should it be necessary for you to DEPART EARLIER than your original reservation, you will be responsible for all of the original room nights booked.  If we are able to rebook them, you will receive a refund for those nights rebooked minus a $100 cancellation fee.  //CELLPHONE At the Lodge, we have fairly good cell phone service with Verizon Wireless. Most other providers are not well covered. Your are welcome to use our guest phone in the dining room to receive incoming calls as well as making free long distance calls within the US //TV Satellite television located in the common room and the Denali Room.  //CHECK IN: 4:00 - 6 PM //If you are arriving later than 6 pm, please call or send a text to this number-330-819-0433, since the door will be locked and so that we can make arrangements for you to get in. //CHECK OUT: 10 AM -We are sorry but we do not offer late check out, as we are on a very tight cleaning schedule before the next guests arrive. A late fee of $35 per 1/2 hour will be imposed. // OFFICE HOURS  8 am – 10pm.  - -Our office is closed during 10 pm & 8 am. Please book online or email us if you have questions about our Lodge during that night time period. //CHILDREN -Many of our guests come to our small Lodge for a quiet and romantic getaway. -We adore children but our Lodge is not suitable for those under the age of 10. We cannot accommodate a third person in our rooms due to fire regulations. //QUIET HOURS -Our quiet hours are between 9:30 pm-8 am and we request you be respectful of other guests staying at our Lodge. //CONSERVATION -is very important to us. Part of the structures utilize geothermal heat and highly efficient wood stoves, and we also compost non-meat items and recycle. Please help with this opportunity by drying and re-using your towels, turning down the heat or air-conditioning and turning off lights when you are out for the day. //PETS -Sorry, pets cannot be accommodated //SMOKE FREE PROPERTY-STRICTLY ENFORCED, -Cooperstown Lakeview Lodge is a smoke free property-this includes all 22 acres. Please respect this request. A $200 special cleaning fee will be imposed if this policy is violated and violators will be asked to leave. A refund will not be given. //FORGOTTEN ITEMS items left behind can be sent to you via mail at your request. The cost of shipping + a $5 handling and packaging fee (rounded to the next whole dollar) will be billed to your credit card. If we do not hear about a lost item for 30 days, these items will be donated to charity. Room keys that are not left behind will incur a $5 charge.
